Appointments update – 18 August 2026

Wendy Redshaw has been appointed as Standard Life’s first-ever group chief digital & technology officer.

To her new role, Redshaw brings extensive experience leading digital and technology transformation across global banks. Most recently, she held the position of NatWest Group’s chief digital information officer for retail, where she led large-scale technology, digital and transformation teams. As part of her new role, Redshaw will lead the Enterprise Technology function, helping Standard Life strengthen its capabilities. Her role aims to bring together Standard Life's technology, digital, data, security and artificial intelligence capabilities to help deliver better outcomes for customers, make it easier for people to engage with their financial futures and support the company's growth ambitions. She will report to Standard Life group chief executive officer, Andy Briggs, and will also sit on the Group’s Executive Committee. The company said that she will take up her position in the “coming months”.

M&G Life has appointed Joyeeta Kanungo as director of product & structuring in its Corporate Pension Solutions team.

This role is newly created and will see Kanungo responsible for leading the Products and Structuring team, bringing together product strategy, structuring and investment expertise in an effort to develop attractive propositions across M&G’s Pension Risk Transfer and Workplace Pensions businesses. Kanungo has 18 years of experience in the pension, insurance and retirement markets and joins M&G Life from Standard Life. At Standard Life, she served as head of market risk and matching adjustment, including asset structuring and capital management of its Mortgage Solutions business. Earlier in her career, she held senior roles at Legal & General and Swiss Re.

Broadstone has hired Steven Bell and Liam Hudson as senior defined contribution (DC) consultants.

Both Bell and Hudson will join Broadstone’s DC team, which sits within the wider Employee Benefits Consulting division. Bell has worked for several global pension advisory consultancies over his almost 30-year career. He joins from Aon and has a particular focus on trust-based schemes. Meanwhile, Hudson joins Broadstone from Howden and has previously worked at Mercer UK, JLT Employee Benefits and APEX Group Services. At Broadstone, he will play a key role in enhancing Broadstone’s DC pensions offering and delivering expert client advice.
