Appointments update – 17 September 2026

The Pensions Management Institute (PMI) has made several appointments, including to key board positions.

Girish Menezes has been reappointed as president for a further one-year term, and Mark Ormston has been appointed as a non-executive director of the PMI Board. Ormston, Retirement Line chief compliance officer, succeeds Sarah Drummond, who will step down at the end of her term. To his new role, Ormston brings extensive board and chair experience, strong financial oversight capabilities, regulatory and governance expertise, and experience of technology and digital transformation initiatives. The PMI Group has also confirmed that four new non-executive directors will join its learning and development subsidiary Factito. These individuals are LCP partner and head of strategic pension relationships, Nathalie Sims, West Midlands Pension Fund people development lead, Heather Clarke-Trevis, former Freedom Services Group executive director of risk and compliance, Richard Webb, and charity trustee and people and leadership development expert, Ian Chakravorty. The PMI intends these appointments to strengthen governance, oversight and diversity of expertise as Factito continues to expand its learning and development offering.

TPT has appointed Geoff Tookey as head of trustee services.

Tookey has more than 20 years of pension experience and joins TPT from Bank of America, where he was head of pensions for UK & Ireland. Following pension consulting roles at WTW and KPMG, he moved to O2 as pensions and benefits manager and later progressed to head of pensions at Virgin Media O2. He is also a qualified actuary. In his new role, he will lead TPT’s trustee services teams, which support Verity Trustees Limited in overseeing its portfolio of schemes. He will also work closely with the new trustee boards supporting TPT’s collective defined contribution and superfund propositions.

Arc Pensions Law has announced three new appointments.

Victoria Thompson-Hill joins from Baker McKenzie as a professional support lawyer, Jonathan Mason as an associate, and Georgi Ivanov as a paralegal. Thompson-Hill has 20 years of pensions law experience and particular expertise in legal knowledge management, while Mason joins as a newly qualified solicitor having trained at Squire Patton Boggs. Commenting, Arc Pensions Law managing partner, Anna Copestake, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Victoria, Jonathan and Georgi. These appointments reflect our continued investment in the firm at every level and our focus on building for the future.”

Howden Employee Benefits has appointed John Deegan as a non-executive director on its UK board and as an adviser to the Global Employee Benefits Executive Leadership Team.

Deegan brings over 25 years of experience across Mercer Marsh Benefits and its predecessor businesses. His roles included leading its multinational employee benefits business and responsibility for Darwin, its global benefits technology platform. Commenting, Howden CEO and global practice leader, health & employee benefits, Glenn Thomas, said: “John knows this market inside out and has spent his career working with multinational employers, building strong teams and understanding what clients need.”
