Appointments update 13 August

B&CE has appointed David Redbond as its new director of IT.

Redbond joins having held a number of senior positions including chief information officer at Old Mutual as well as roles at Skandia Life and Hargreaves Lansdowne. In his new role, he will be responsible for the overall IT strategy, ensuring that the group is well positioned for future growth across its pensions and occupational health products.

TPT Retirement Solutions has named Adrian Cooper as head of direct distribution.

In this newly created role, Cooper will be responsible for building on the group’s defined benefit complete solution to the sponsors and trustees of the DB schemes. He joins from Barnett Waddingham and currently chairs the central London Group Pensions and Lifetime Association Committee.

B&CE has appointed pensions expert Jim Islam and technology expert Jim McKinnon to its board of directors.

Islam has been head of group finance at Lloyd’s of London since November 2016. He was previously employed at Legal & General for a number of years in several different roles, including CEO of Legal & General Unit Trusts and managing director of their corporate business decision. McKinnon previously worked for more than 40 years at The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., most recently as chief information officer.. Both appointments will take effect over the summer.
