The Association of British Insurers (ABI) and the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA) have appointed Teamspirit as the partner for the first session of the Pension Attention campaign.
The cross-industry campaign is set to run from September to November and Teamspirit will be responsible for devising an ‘innovative approach’ that can catalyse increased engagement with pensions.
This approach will be delivered by a fully integrated team comprising of advertising, public relations and the media buying know-how of the VCCP Group.
Teamspirit’s appointment follows a competitive pitch process and signals the start of the working relationship between the businesses with immediate effect.
This year’s campaign season is the first in what is due to be a three-year campaign.
Commenting on the announcement, Pensions Engagement Season campaigns manager, Sarah Cordey, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Teamspirit on this campaign.
“They have the perfect mix of industry knowledge and creative edge for the challenge we’re undertaking, to wake people up to the value of their pension savings and why they’re worth paying some attention. We want to help everyone understand where their money is and the simple steps they can take to keep track of it.
“This project is only possible thanks to an unprecedented collaboration between many pension providers and schemes and we’re excited about what we can achieve together.”
Teamspirit managing director, Montserrat Tojeiro, added: “We’re incredibly excited to be working with the ABI and PLSA on this industry led campaign. Currently over half of the public struggle to find their pension information and just 20 per cent are confident they’re saving enough for retirement. It really has never been a more important time to reinvigorate public engagement with pensions.
“We’ve already hit the ground running on this campaign and developed the launch logo and agreed the activation plan for the campaign – an idea that is exciting and challenging for the sector. We look forward to continuing its delivery across the rest of the year. Keep your eyes peeled for the September launch.”
