Are you an experienced pension's DB technical, governance and operational risk management specialist eager to support one of the largest in-house schemes in the UK Pension Scheme’s Executive with the ever-increasing regulatory and legislative requirements faced by large defined benefit pension schemes? If yes, how about a newly created role, ready for you to make your own? And would you like to also work predominantly from home with rare visits to the office when needed? If yes, we think this role is about to tick all your career boxes, so please do read on, and get in touch ASAP if it appeals…

This scheme provides benefits to more than 50,000 beneficiaries, and a highly reputed service to their members, and your role will have a few key core functions, to support the Head of Risk and Compliance, who will be able to delegate some key projects to you around operational risk management, including internal controls testing, and to also support the Secretary to the Trustee, in particular with secretariat services to the Finance and General Purposes Committee of the Trustee.

With so many exciting areas to work within and assist with you will need recent experience of DB occupational pension schemes including interpreting scheme rules and regulatory changes and providing secretariat services (recording notes/actions of meetings) and excellent knowledge of the legislative, taxation and regulatory framework that governs occupational DB pension schemes, including the reporting and compliance requirements. Experience developing, documenting, maintaining, reviewing and testing robust scheme internal controls and business continuity plans. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including an ability to communicate complex pension issues in plain English to individuals at all levels, flexible, work as part of a team but also able to work independently with good time management and able to manage your own workloads with minimum supervision and prioritise.

Roles such as this are rare and very niche and we hope you have all the aforementioned experience and attributes to be the successful applicant, who we are sure will grow and develop quickly in this role and within such a super work environment and friendly team.
