Sherlock Holmes, Miss Marple, Hercule Poirot, Inspector Morse eat your heart out, there is a new detective on the block, you! Intrigued? Then get your research head on and read on…

Our client is a medium-sized in-house pension department, with their own team of pension's professionals all running the administration of a very busy and efficiently run set of pension schemes. Your new role will be within the data team, where you will be tracking and tracing and clearing and cleansing pension's data. If you are someone who enjoys studying data, data cleansing, data entry, improvement and re-engineering workflows (if you discover there are better ways of doing things along the way), and producing reports and findings for other teams and departments as needed, this role was created with you in mind!

You will be reporting to the Pensions Systems Analyst, as part of a multi-disciplined team looking after 27,000 members with over £4bn worth of pension liabilities, with two other Pension System Administrators doing a similar role, and there to help and guide you during your first few months. This role is a junior role, not quite trainee entry level as you will need to understand how pensions work and have some experience of dealing with Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution in some way, so you understand what they are and how they work. This knowledge will help you to work in the Systems Team as the Data Cleansing and Data Maintenance person.

You will have an analytical mind, an eye for detail and strong focus. As a mini detective part of your role will be to review all data, this might mean for example multiple same names that need sorting into one account, tracking and tracing people and cleansing old data. Looking at data platforms and finding inconsistences and correcting these. A lot of the work can be Excel based, so you will need to have used Excel in the past for this role.

Hopefully after reading all the aforementioned you feel this role is a perfect career move, especially as like so many companies in 2021 this company are happy for you to split your working week between the office and home.
