The largest Local Government Pension (LGPS) provider in London with around £6 billion of assets and 135 active employers is now looking for four exceptional individuals to bring additional insight and expertise to the Board. You will have an opportunity to join a dynamic and engaged board dedicated to LPFA’s success and its members and employers at an exciting time. You will help lead the LPFA into the next phase of its development as it builds on its success as a large, well run LGPS pension fund and as an active, challenging but supportive owner (with its fellow Shareholder) of Local Pensions Partnership’s (LPP) Administration and Investment businesses. The LPFA’s aim is to deliver LGPS pension services to a high quality and in the most cost effective and efficient manner. Applicants with the following experience are welcomed to apply:
– From an investment management background, with broad investment management experience across a range of asset classes to lead our Investment Committee.
– Has considerable pensions experience with a specialist understanding of the issues associated with Responsible Investing, ESG and particularly climate change.
– Has strong experience of Pension Funds and, in particular, the related governance matters.
– Experienced in public service governance with the added dimension of pensions experience.
Background and experience:
The successful applicants for each of these Board Member positions are likely to have a wide frame of business expertise, non-executive experience and ideally a solid understanding of pension issues, including e.g. fund management, outsourcing, pension scheme governance or a focus on asset and liability management (including green investing and ESG policy). Experience of operating within a public sector context would also be useful. As the roles involve oversight of LPP, we would welcome candidates with experience from corporate services within the broader financial services sector.
