PLSA AC 24: Govt remains committed to pensions dashboards

The government remains “steadfast” in its commitment to delivering pensions dashboards, Pensions Minister, Emma Reynolds, has said.

Speaking at the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA) Annual Conference, argued that it is “crucial that we make it easier for people to keep track of their pension savings and plan for retirement”.

“I’m really passionate about this, and the government remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering pensions dashboards,” she continued.

Whilst Reynolds said that it is still too early to confirm a launch date for public use, she said that the government wants to ensure that the public can realise the benefits of using a pensions dashboard at the “earliest opportunity”.

Given this, she stressed the importance of the industry continuing to drive forward preparation for dashboards.

“We welcome that schemes are working on their data and I would encourage you to make use of all of our available guidance, in particular the updated standards released by the Pensions Dashboard Programme," she continued.

“We are determined to press ahead with this vital innovation, working closely with all of you to make this happen and bringing huge benefits to the millions of people who currently find it so difficult and complex to navigate their own pension savings.”
