Appointments update 12 January 2022

Law Debenture has appointed Vicky Paramour as managing director of its pensions practice.

Paramour joined LawDebenture in 2015 as a trustee director and has over 20 years’ experience in the pensions industry. In her new role, she will lead a team of more than 50 pension professionals, working across 200 schemes, and will be responsible for Law Debenture’s full pensions business, including Pegasus. The firm has also announced the appointment of Nigel Modlinsky as the new head of corporate sole trustee.

Hymans Robertson has named Iain Pearce as head of alternative risk transfer solutions.

The new role will see Pearce lead the firm’s advisory service supporting DB pension scheme trustees and sponsors and market participants considering new and emerging risk transfer options. Having joined the business in 2007, Pearce has previously advised on a wide-range of risk transfer projects, including buy-ins, buyouts, and longevity swap conversions, most recently advising on a range of market participants on superfund and capital backed solutions.

Railpen has announced the appointment of Paula Brack as chief HR officer.

Brack brings over 25 years’ experience across a number of sectors to the role, and initially joined Railpen as head of HR in 2018, having since led on the delivery of several key initiatives to further enhance employee experience. She takes over from Mark Martin, who retired in January 2022. Her appointment is the latest in a string of recent hires, following the appointment of Ellen Watson-Hicks as chief risk and compliance officer and Sally-Ann James as general counsel in October 2021.
