Appointments update 7 May 2020

Independent Trustee Service (ITS) has named Akash Rooprai as director.

Bringing over 25 years' experience to the role, Rooprai is a qualified actuary with expertise across all aspects of pensions risk management. Previously, he was scheme actuary and corporate actuary at Mercer, and was also involved in arranging the first ever £1bn buyout for the Thorn pension scheme in 2008. Rooprai also chairs both the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries’ Bulk Annuity Group and the data sub-group of the industry-wide GMP Equalisation Working Group.

Border to Coast has announced five appointments to its investment and research teams.

The firm has seen three new hires to its investment team, bringing over 30 years' combined experience with them. This includes Daniel Loughney and James Thelwell, who will be joining as portfolio managers; and Lue Pascal, who will be taking on the role of assistant portfolio manager. It also announced two additional hires on its research team, both in the role of research manager, Hernan Enriquez and Guy Norman.

TPT Retirement Solutions has appointed Helena Dumycz as head of employer relationships.

Her new role will see her supporting TPT's 52 DB and DC schemes and 2,600 employers.
Dumycz is a qualified actuary and, with over 18 years of experience in the pensions sector, has held a number of actuarial and client relationship roles with firms such as LCP, Deloitte and Aon. She then moved in-house roles, and has held roles with BT, ITV, Grafton Group and GSK since.
