Appointments update – 22 September 2026

Wealth at Work has announced that Mark Duckworth will succeed David Cassidy as CEO, effective 1 December 2026.

Duckworth brings over 30 years of financial services experience and previously served as CEO of Schroders Personal Wealth and Openwork. To ensure a seamless transition, Wealth at Work chief financial officer, Stuart Payne, will serve as interim CEO until Duckworth’s appointment on 1 December. Following Duckworth’s arrival, Payne will assume the dual mandate of chief financial and operations officer.

Canada Life has appointed Mark Fenlon as operations director for bulk purchase annuities (BPA).

Fenlon joins from Standard Life, where he was director of client services, annuities. He has also held senior operational and actuarial roles at Aviva and Legal & General. In his new role, he will advance Canada Life’s BPA operations strategy. He also joins Canada Life’s BPA Senior Leadership Team and will report to Canada Life managing director BPA, Dominic Moret.

Squire Patton Boggs has announced the appointment of Helen May as a director.

She joins from Eversheds Sutherland and is returning to Squire Patton Boggs, where she trained, qualified and spent more than 12 years. She is experienced in pensions and has advised trustees and employers on all types of pension arrangements. She has also helped clients navigate the legal and regulatory framework governing occupational pension schemes and advised on complex pension issues, with particular expertise in the consumer, financial services, manufacturing and public sectors.

People’s Partnership, provider of the People’s Pension, has hired Daniel Spencer as co-head of fixed income.

He joins from Brunel Pensions Partnership, where he spent eight years as a portfolio manager. He has almost 20 years of investment management experience and prior to Brunel, he held investment analyst roles at AXA Investment Managers and J.P. Morgan. As co-head of fixed income, Spencer will work alongside fellow co-head, Charlotte Vincent.

Dalriada has promoted Shehzad Ahmad to principal executive director with overall responsibility for leading the business.

Ahmad will report to Dalriada’s parent company 3173 Group group CEO, Bill Galvin and work alongside Dalriada Statutory Board chair, Tom Lukic. Ahmad has assumed the reporting lines of the managing directors of each of Dalriada's business areas. Adrian Kennett is now managing director for consolidation and regulatory affairs, Charles Ward is managing director for trusteeship and run-on solutions, and Stephen Soper will continue as managing director for operations. He will also assume line management for Dalriada head of pensions management, Leanne Coomber, and retain Dalriada head of business development, sales and marketing, Ryan Hubley.
