Local Pensions Partnership Administration (LPPA) has awarded a £3.6m cloud pensions software contract to Civica.

Civica’s cloud-enabled Universal Pensions Management (UPM) software will aims to improve member and employer experience across the organisation through digitalisation and automation to modernise services. It will offer value for money administration software and build a digital platform for future growth. UPM will consolidate five existing systems into one integrated workflow platform.

Aviva has named Chetan Singh as managing director of annuities and equity release, effective from 1 May.

Singh is currently Aviva’s chief strategy and M&A officer. In his new role, he will report to Aviva UK and Ireland Life chief executive, Doug Brown. Prior to joining Aviva five years ago, Singh held senior roles with JP Morgan and Citigroup. Singh commented that he was “delighted” to take on “this exciting new role”.

Hymans Robertson has promoted Shabna Islam as its new head of defined contribution (DC) provider relations.

Islam will lead the firm’s master trust research and manage its relationships with DC product providers. She has almost 15 years of experience in the pensions industry, having joined Hymans Robertson in 2006 as a qualified actuary. Hymans Robertson stated that Islam as an “in-depth understanding of both the DC and defined benefit markets
