Appointments update 13 September 2019

River and Mercantile has named David Hanratty as its global head of distribution.

Hanratty has over 30 years of experience in the industry and was previously managing director at Pioneer Investments, where he has had responsibility for global distributors across the business. Prior to this, he was sales and marketing director at Janus’s UK wealth operation. He takes over the role from CEO James Barham, who was responsible for the role while deputy CEO.

Punter Southall Aspire has appointed Richard Cole as its director of financial planning.

Cole joins from Hargreaves Lansdown, where he spent seven years working as a financial adviser, focusing on investment, estate and retirement planning. Prior to this, he worked at NatWest Bank for 10 years as a private financial planning manager and later as a senior private investment manager.

Aon has named seven new partners: Lorraine Boucher, Paul Crocker, Anthony Poole, Matthew Richardson, Martin Stark, Matthew Ward and Tom Yorath.

Boucher is pensions operations director, Crocker is a senior client lead and scheme actuary and has worked for Aon for 20 years, and Poole works within Aon Reward Solutions. Richardson leads the office’s UK retirement practice, Stark leads Aon’s trustee retirement corporate consulting team with 20 years of experience, Ward is head of the incentives legal team in Aon Reward Solutions and Yorath leads the advice to some of the UK’s largest scheme sponsors.
