Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) pool London CIV has named Aoifinn Devitt as its new chief investment officer (CIO).
Devitt is currently CIO at US-based wealth management company Moneta. She has advised LGPS funds since 2006, consulting on asset allocation and responsible investing, as well as the pooling process. Previously, Devitt held several senior investment roles, including as Hermes Fund Managers head of investment for Ireland, and Policemen’s Annuity and Benefit Fund of Chicago CIO. Her recent experience also includes independent adviser roles to four local authority pension funds in the UK, as well as other investment committee positions.
People’s Partnership has appointed Angela Staral as its chief operating officer (COO).
Staral will join People’s Partnership in February from Goldman Sachs, where she is currently COO of investment banking engineering. She has also previously worked for HSBC, ING, Sopra Steria and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services across a 20-year career in financial services. Staral will oversee all customer operations and servicing at People’s Partnership.
Arc Pensions Law has announced that Clare Pollard and Tom Cosgrove have joined its Leeds and London offices, respectively.
Pollard joins the firm after seven years at Squire Patton Boggs. She has wide-ranging experience advising clients on matters including the interpretation of scheme rules, eligibility for scheme benefits, scheme amendments, trust deed and rules re-writes, investments, pensions litigation and PPF entry/eligibility. Cosgrove joins from a position as a manager in the pensions legal team at PwC. He is has experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters, with notable expertise in matters relating to liability management exercises, corporate restructuring member complaints, and advice on the pensions aspects of corporate transactions.
