Appointments update 07 February 2019

XPS Pensions Group has announced the appointment of Robert Evans as a principle.

Evans joined XPS on 4 February from Mercer, where he was providing strategic advice to trustees. He brings over 20 years of experience as an actuary, advising trustees and sponsors on a wide range of matters including integrated risk management, funding negotiations, journey plans and member options, to his new role.

Martin Currie has appointed Barry MacLennan and Mark Cho as heads of distribution in Europe and the Americas, respectively.

MacLennan joins from Standard Life Investments, where he spent 18 years, the majority of which was spent in the company’s wholesale management team. Cho joins from affiliate firm Legg Mason, where he held the position of analyst relations manager on the retail national accounts team. Prior to that, he had works at Fred Alger Management and Guardian Life.

The Pensions Administration Standards Association (Pasa) has appointed David Pharo as its board director.

Pharo has 30 years of experience in the pensions industry and takes over the new role from Margaret Snowdon, who moved to the newly created non-executive role of president in January. He currently works as client relationship manager at Aon, where he has been for 22 years.
