Your newly created role as an a Pensions Systems Developer reports to the Senior System Development Manager and will work on all aspects of the configuration of the Pensions Administration software platform within the in-house Pensions Department known as Member Services. A key part of this role will be working with Procentia and the Member Services support team to maintain and improve the use of IntelliPen, the new system.
Our client has one of the biggest pension schemes in the UK, their Defined Benefit pension scheme is now closed to new members, but has over 250,000 current and future pensioners. They went live on the Procentia Intellipen platform in early 2021 and created a new Administration Systems Team (AST) to support, maintain and develop changes to their system and a new IT Services Team (IST) to support their infrastructure, which is why they need someone just like you!
Ideally you will need past experience of pensions systems to jump into this role and hit the ground running and of course if you have experience of the Intellipen platform then 'happy days!' You need to understand calculations, workflows, reporting, payroll and finance, and document production. You will most certainly have knowledge of SQL and MS Office, and a track record of working in information technology, ideally with Pensions Technology, if this is with defined contribution schemes even better. You will have the ability to adapt to complex programs and updating technology, and possess strong diagnostic, analytical and process skills.
You will provide technical expertise on the configuration and running of the Pensions Administration System, including workflows, reporting, document production, member portal and calculations. Working with the head of testing to agree appropriate test plans, the AST sprint planner to provide clear forward looking plans, with AST to produce regular reporting and compliance with AAF, and with the rest of AST in managing day-to-day incident tickets. You will work in partnership with internal project and change teams, and external contractors to deliver system improvements and improved member experience, and be able to coach and provide technical guidance to others in order to build the Member Services internal systems development capability.
