You will be supporting the In-house pension's operational teams in the delivery of technical administration projects, and will work as a senior member of the team. With the support of administrators and team members you will be required to simultaneously deliver a number of different technical projects for the scheme, including: GMP Reconciliation projects, GMP equalisation projects, New scheme implementations, Scheme events. In addition, you will be required to support the administration team with day-to-day tasks as the need arises. This will include the processing and checking of key priority tasks and assisting with the more complex tasks and projects. You will be required to deputise in the Administration Manager’s absence, and be capable of building strong relationships with all business areas specifically HR, Payroll, Finance teams and external advisers. In this challenging role you will deal with a wide range of individuals both internally and externally across all business areas and at all levels of seniority. With the option of just 2 days in the office only should you wish and 3 days from home, you must be willing to travel occasionally to other company sites. This will not be much, but something to be aware of as part of the role, which is not unusual in most pension's roles from time to time.
In terms of experience DB scheme knowledge is more beneficial than DC for this role, but both needed and either helpful. You will have had an administration background, and be used to undertaking calculations working on Excel, and feel confident you can undertake project work on GMP equalisation and rectification. You will be someone who enjoys keeping up to date with pension's legislation and technical requirements, even to the point of understanding systems to the level you can see where improvements might be made. Your new employer hopes you will want to challenge existing procedures and have the technical expertise to implement change whilst maintaining service levels, and possibly if not studying you might wish to and gain professional qualifications to enhance your pension's expertise e.g. QPA/PMI, but these are not essential, but worthy of mention for some candidates where study and self-development is essential to them when applying to new roles to progress their career. This is not your average pension's vacancy, there will be data analysis and project work, so if you enjoy diversity, this is yet another reason to 'turn on' to this role.
