No sirens necessary! But you will be policing all sorts in this exciting role. From undertaking internal audits, and ensuring internal controls are created and followed to understanding codes of practice and scheme governance and making sure these are understood and being undertaken. Your vital role will be to undertake technical review work and provide advice, and Technical & Compliance Support across this very large In-house Pension Scheme Group's Pensions Department. You will be reporting to, and working with, the Group Pensions Technical & Compliance Manager, you will also work with the Management Team and other stakeholders.

You may not be able to help Neo, (reference to the Matrix movie series) but you can help the pensions department by maintaining the Disclosure Matrix, creating detail on pension's legislation and pension's validation of internal controls. You will keep abreast of legislative changes likely impact to the Pensions Arrangements and provide necessary updates and technical guidance notes to the Team and other pension's related areas.

You will need a background in a Technical & Compliance role with significant experience in defined benefit arrangements, defined contribution arrangements and state benefit system and knowledge of Pension Legislation. Pensions System’s knowledge preferable but not essential. Understanding market best practice and an interest in developing skills as a more rounded pension's professional is. Our client hopes you are either PMI qualified or have an equivalent type qualification, or working towards PMI or similar, as this shows a bias towards studying information and relaying this. If you have Project Management skills, possibly the PRINCE2 qualification, this will come in handy when undertaking this role and ensuring Compliance and Governance in so many different areas from administration to Trustees. If you do not have the relevant qualifications but are happy to study, our client will always encourage any study and professional development, especially as you will be one of two guru's helping everyone else.

This is a unique role for an in-house scheme and superb opportunity for anyone with a thirst for pension's knowledge and a hunger for organisation and control.
