To provide support to the Head of Pensions and Pensions Manager in relation to the administrative and operational matters of the Pension Schemes.

About the role
• Supervise individuals in the Pensions Team on the operation and administration. Develop junior members of the Pensions Team to deliver effective succession planning for all roles
• Provide pro-active guidance to employees, the wider HR community and resolve queries in relation to the pension arrangements
• Maintain and improve effective working relationships within HR and Finance, along with the 3rd party scheme administrators for an effective delivery of pension services
• Evaluate and look to continually improve the development of the plain English communications strategies and materials
• Manage work streams and provide oversight and support to Business-wide large projects in relation to the delivery of pension related benefits and to lead on small-medium pension related projects. Provide support on HR initiatives as required
• Check and improve the more complex calculations of contributions and benefits for scheme members across the various pension schemes
• To provide support to the Pensions Manager in the preparation of the Trustees/Committee meetings along with attending the meetings as and when required
• Identify and recommend appropriate department improvements to Head of Pensions, to improve company processes, systems and data accuracy. Once improvements are agreed then proceed to implement
• Deliver presentations on company pension arrangements to employees and the HR teams as required
• Carry out any additional duties within reason as and when required

About you
• Experience of working within an occupational pensions department
• Knowledge of the provision and legislation of UK pension benefits
• Experience of a wide range of aspects of pension scheme administration and the calculation of benefits
• Appropriate pensions professional qualification
• Excellent communicator
• Has a willingness to develop others
• Ability to effectively communicate complex information and issues to non-specialists
• Ability to manage customer expectation and deliver great customer service
• Highly analytical individual who has high attention to detail
• Able to build strong relationships with boy key internal and external stakeholders
