Lancashire County Pension Fund is seeking to appoint a new Chair of the Local Pension Board with effect from 1st November 2023. Your application plays a key part in our appointment process. BACKGROUND

Lancashire County Council, as administering authority of LCPF, manages assets of over £10bn and is seeking a new Chair of the Local Pension Board to provide leadership and direction to the Board, which meets four times each year. In addition, the Chair will be required to attend the Pension Fund Committee at least twice per year for awareness and to provide an annual update to the Committee regarding the Board's activities. Additional attendance may be required in relation to other events.

Prospective applicants should have experience of chairing and facilitating meetings and be fully conversant with recent developments in the pensions industry. Knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme is preferred.

The current Chair of the Local Pension Board will end their term of appointment on 31st October 2023 and the new Chair will start in position from 1st November 2023. To help provide for a smooth transition, it is intended that the new Chair will observe the Board meeting immediately preceding their appointment. This meeting is arranged for 17th October 2023.
