Job Purpose – to drive and deliver the Company-wide services for the pension department.

As the new Pensions Operations Manager, your role will be to drive and deliver the company-wide services for the pension department. You would be responsible for the day-to-day operational running of the department with a clear focus of delivering the objectives of the department, whilst proposing new processes in order to maximise efficiencies. You will be an individual seeking a long-term successful career move where you will invest time in the role and make positive change and improvements, adding value and proving the true worth of having an in-house pension department.

It is vital you are a 'roll your sleeves up' and 'hands on' operations manager, able to step in when members of your team are absent. You will have other hats, you will also manage relationships with external pension's administrators, auditors, etc., you must also ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practice, to help drive performance and maintain high standards, produce administration reports for Trustee meetings, and produce guidance and support information on pensions to members. You will be responsible for the in-house pension payroll including monthly authorisations, reconciliation of employee and company contributions, the control framework and fraud prevention to ensure payments to and from the pension schemes are made accurately and within statutory time limits. You will provide pension-related Company and Trustee reports, including cash flow forecasts, budgets and forecasts, monthly/quarterly asset and performance reporting. You will also ensure the effective utilisation of computerised pension systems and other appropriate technology. We could go on… which is what makes this such an appealing role. You will have multiple responsibilities, whilst getting time to review, develop ideas, implement, and make constant change and improvements for the better.

This is an exciting role, which has arisen due to relocation of the current post-holder and is unlikely to arise again for some time. Please do get in touch ASAP if you would like to either apply or learn more.
