This is the Group Pensions Manager (UK & Global) appointment you have been waiting to come along and it does not disappoint. I hear so often "I have one more, big role in me", and here it is, an amazing chance to take on the number one role in pensions, overseeing a small team of 4, with responsibility for the Group’s major UK defined benefit scheme and overseas pension (and benefits) arrangements. Complimented by hybrid working with just 2 days in London and 3 days from home, a six-figure + package and this excludes up to 20% bonus. This role will report to the Group Reporting Director in Group Finance within Group Central Functions, and support the Chief Finance Officer.
You will lead the internal Group Pensions department and be responsible for the strategy, policy and administration and setting the overall direction for all Pension's programmes to support the organisation's strategic objectives and align with their overall Reward architecture. You will work with the company's Group Functions; Group Finance, HR, their internal legal team, as well as their external Pensions Advisers to understand the current pension landscape so that you can design, optimise and implement new pension arrangements where required across the globe. Like many high profile pension's roles the coming years will involve some major strategic planning work and projects, plenty of liaison with the CEO on some major pieces of pension's work. If this is music to your ears, this role was made for you.
You will be someone with the ability to partner and influence across all key stakeholders and at executive level, build relationships, gain credibility quickly and demonstrate a strong customer focus and commitment to quality service delivery with effective communication skills at all levels, and will be customer service driven. You will have significant experience “in-house” or at a consultancy or a combination of both, and some experience of wider benefit programmes (including team leadership). You will have past or current experience with a wide variety of UK and international pension arrangements (DB and DC). Having worked in a large, global organisation (global matrix environment) will be highly advantageous, but we appreciate our client is asking to tick a lot of boxes and there may be some areas for you to learn and tick as you go along.
You will be someone professionally qualified, APMI or equivalent, or if qualified by experience, your resume must very clearly demonstrate past success in this kind of role. You will need a strong financial acumen, particularly with respect to pension plan funding and investment. Strong quantitative skills, ability to use data analysis to proactively derive insights and support fact-based decision-making, an ability to build business cases and develop papers for committee and board presentations will all be in your repertoire. You will understand and embrace technology with experience of delivering benefit programs and communications using digital platforms and capabilities.
You will seek to understand whether current provisions meet both legislative requirements and support the company's total reward strategy so that you can scope out recommendations for a range of options that could be provided so that they ensure that future benefits and pensions provisions align to their mission of providing inclusive benefits to attract and retain the best talent, which includes taking on someone just like you in this role… so please do get in touch ASAP to apply.
