Pensions appointments - 17 August 2022

Smart has appointed Anish Rav as director of retirement.

The newly created role of director of retirement will look to build on the firm’s global retirement technology platform, Keystone. Rav’s appointment comes amid expansion across the global retirement technology sector, including into the Australian market. In his role, Rav will be responsible for the overall design and management of all retirement products, solutions and related platform capabilities, features and services offered by Smart. He joins Smart from Capita Pensions Solutions.

Capita Pensions Solutions has appointed Baroness Ros Altmann to its board as non-executive director.

Altmann has over 40 years of experience in the pensions savings and investment industry, and was Pensions Minister for 2015-16. She remains a member of the House of Lords and has worked to improve the administration of pension schemes. Capita Pension Solutions said her appointment would further strengthen its commitment to executing digital delivery and growth strategy of the business, alongside working to improve data quality and administration in preparation for pensions dashboards.

Punter Southall Governance Services has named Sasha Jain as client director.

Jain previously spent 15 years as an investment consultant at Mercer, specialising in defined benefit schemes of between £250m and £5bn+. She has extensive experience of working with trustee boards and corporate stakeholders on a variety of investment-related issues, including journey planning, risk management and bulk annuity transactions. Jain began her career in asset management with analytical roles at Merrill Lynch Investment Management (now BlackRock) and Pimco.
