News in brief – 5 June 2020

Smart and Natixis Investment Managers (IM) have announced a strategic partnership to deliver workplace pension solutions.

The firms hope the partnership will allow them to combine their expertise to develop and deliver leading solutions in the UK and globally. Natixis IM joins Link Group, the leading administrator in the Australian superannuation market, Legal & General Investment Management, and J.P. Morgan as equity investors in Smart. Smart CEO, Andrew Evans, said the company was “really proud to welcome Natixis IM as a strategic investor”.

Quantum Advisory has selected RiskFirst’s PFaroe platform to strengthen investment analysis.

Quantum will use PFaroe to perform asset-liability modelling and monitor pension plans’ investment risk and funding levels. The system was selected following an “extensive review” of the options and will support Quantum in advising clients on investment risk. Quantum partner and head of investment, Amanda Burdge, said PFaroe’s capacity and flexibility “fits perfectly with our goal of providing dynamic yet pragmatic advice to clients”.

AMP Capital reaches landmark for equities business with the Global Companies Fund.

AMP Capital marks the three-year anniversary of the Global Companies Strategy, its global equities strategy, with an absolute return over the first three years to 31 March 2020 of 54 per cent net of fees, compared to global equity market returns of 4.6 per cent over the same period. On an annualised basis the strategy has returned 15.5 per cent per annum net of fees, versus the market returning 1.5 per cent.
