Railpen has named Ellen Watson-Hicks as its first chief risk and compliance officer.
Watson-Hicks brings over 20 years of experience in financial services to the role and joins from Universities Superannuation Scheme, where she was head of enterprise risk. Prior to this, she held various roles in TP ICAP, Tullet Prebon, Nomura International PLC and Aviva. Railpen has also announced the appointment of Sally-Ann James as general counsel. James joins from Metro Bank PLC, having previously held roles in The Co-operative Banking Group.
The National Pension Trust has announced three new senior appointments.
Nick Cooper, who has over 30 years’ experience, has been appointed as head of proposition development, while Jackie Le Vey, who also has over 30 years’ pensions industry experience, has been named client relationship manager. In addition to this, the trust has appointed Roz Watson as head of engagement, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry to the role.
Octopus Investments has appointed Robert Cashmore as head of institutional funds distribution, Middle East.
Based in London, Cashmore he will support Octopus’ institutional growth strategy and work alongside head of institutional funds distribution, Mark Williams. Prior to joining Octopus, Cashmore was UK government’s director for investment for the Middle East, Afghanistan and Pakistan, based at the British Embassy in Dubai. He was also the UK government head of investment for Saudi Arabia, based in Riyadh, prior to this.
