Appointments update - 13 January 2022

Legal & General (L&G) has appointed Andrew Kail as the new CEO of L&G Retirement Institutional, the group’s Pension Risk Transfer division.

Kail joined L&G Retail Retirement in 2021, having previously spent 30 years in a variety of roles at PwC, including head of financial services, where he led on PwC’s 6,000 strong team. He takes over the role from Laura Mason, who has in turn been appointed CEO of L&G General Capital, after successfully heading L&G Retirement Institutional since 2018.

Mercer UK has named Benoit Hudon as president and CEO, subject to FCA approval.

Hudon will maintain his UK wealth leader role, which he has held since 2018, and will also join the Mercer Executive Leadership team, reporting to Mercer CEO and president, Martine Ferland, and Mercer vice chair, Marsh McClennan. He brings over 25 years’ experience in risk and HR management consulting and has held various leadership roles previously, including global DB leader, Europe & Pacific wealth leader, Mercer Canada retirement leader and Mercer Canada retirement innovation leader. He will succeed Sylvia Pozezanac, who has left Mercer.

She will join Ross Trustees' Roger Mattingly, Capital Cranfield’s Jonathan Reynolds, and PTL’s Kim Nash on the Aon MasterTrust trustee board.
