Appointments update 10 March 2020

Smarterly has appointed Troy Clutterbuck as managing director.

Clutterbuck has previously served as CFO and CEO at Now Pensions, while he also held the role of CFO at JLT Employee Benefits, where he worked alongside Smarterly chairman Duncan Howorth. Smarterly founder and CEO, Ben Pollard, said: “I am delighted to welcome Troy to the team as managing director and look forward to working with him to achieve our ambitious future plans.”

Barnett Waddingham has hired Amanda Latham as policy and strategy lead.

Latham has worked for The Pensions Regulator for nine years, co-founded the Young Pension Trustee Network and is also a charity trustee, currently holding the role of vice chair on the board of Age UK in West Sussex, Brighton & Hove. In her new role, she will head Barnett Waddingham’s development of firm-wide policy on key industry issues by overseeing the production of research reports, policy briefings and blogs.

PTL has appointed Ramona Tipnis as client director.

Tipnis, who is PTL’s third new client director hire of 2020, joins from Inside Pensions, where she aided trustee boards in navigating regulatory challenges. She has previously worked as an investment manager and analyst, and has also served as an employer-nominated trustee to a multi-million pound pension scheme. PTL managing director, Richard Butcher, said: “We pride ourselves on our diverse team with varied pensions backgrounds. Ramona’s combined experience of investment management, corporate and scheme governance, and trusteeship make her an ideal fit for us.”
