This contract would suit a highly motivated, pro-active LGPS pensions administrator who enjoys problem solving and helping others to learn about pension processes. This role will be working with all of our 38 schools which are located in Birmingham, Hastings, London & Portsmouth, working through a project plan as well as assisting in-school pension administrators with working though historical issues and queries. Being able to keep a project plan up-to-date is critical, working closely with the networks People Operations Manager for support and to update on the projects progress.

The successful candidate will be meeting HR/Finance staff in each of our schools, reviewing the current pensions administration arrangements and then providing training and guidance where a need is identified to ensuring the correct LGPS regulation interpretation and processes are in place (across multiple local authorities).

In order to be considered for this role you must:

· Demonstrate an excellent understanding of the administration process for an LGPS pensions scheme including how scheme rules impact pay
· Experience of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme is desirable but training can be provided
· Able to work autonomously and make sound judgements
· Have strong excel skills
· Excellent communication skills, able to build positive colleague relations with ease
· Able to travel to Birmingham, Hastings, Portsmouth & London location (travel expenses will be provided)

The Role

Carrying out a project plan including reviewing pension administration processes across 38 schools with the in-school HR/Finance staff. This role will be assisting with auto-enrolment arrangements, resolving any outstanding pension queries and providing training and guidance to the in-school staff on pension administration where a need is identified to ensure the correct TPS and LGPS processes are in place.

Ark operates across multiple local authorities which means a variety of LGPS scheme operations are in place.

This role will involve excellent relationship building and working to a strict project plan. This role will also involve travelling to Birmingham, Hastings, Portsmouth and across London.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver the project plan lead by the People Operations Manager covering:
• Assessing each school’s pension administration processes including reviewing contribution schedules, historical submissions and practices when staff changes occur to identify gaps in process and knowledge
• Support with developing pension administration guidance covering TPS and LGPS for the relevant Local Authority
• Deliver training to in-school staff on pensions administration processes

Minimum of Certificate in PMI or CIPP (or equivalent)
