Your objective will be to effectively manage the in-house pension administration team providing a high quality service for the Company, Trustee and Members, whilst at the same time developing and delivering all administrative aspects of the pension plan strategy.

You will ensure that work is completed to a consistently high standard within agreed service levels, creating a team with a strong focus on the members' needs and ensuring that the service the team provides matches this; achieved by creating and managing a personal development plan for each administrator and providing support, training and assistance where necessary to improve knowledge and skills. You will maintain a constant review of the allocation of resources, undertake detailed planning and proactively resolve problems identified, managing also any hoc work affecting the pension administration team in accordance with agreed project plans, within set timescales and through to completion.

You will ensure proper and full record keeping on the pension administration database, as well as ongoing maintenance of the administration procedure notes, and that the administration system and procedures are kept up to date with any changes to Plan rules and legislation. You will help develop and implement the administrative aspects of the pension plan strategy, which includes proactive improvement of existing administration processes, a drive to improve efficiency, increase member engagement and transform digital services to members.

With such a big pension scheme, there are other vital people within pensions, and another part of your role will be to work closely with other members of the Pension's Department to ensure the most effective processes are in place and to identify areas for improvement. You will also be someone able to nurture and forge effective relationships with internal departments, HR, Payroll, Finance and external suppliers.
