News in brief, mandates and product launches from this week

Hornbuckle Mitchell has partnered with MetLife, Vestra Wealth and Blackrock to present a series of adviser workshops for advisers to discuss how to make the most of their clients’ money and how to ensure investments are in sync with a client’s situation. The half-day workshops will be held in London on 6 February, Birmingham and Leicester on 7 February, Manchester and Leeds on 8 February and Bristol and Exeter on 9 February.

Atkin & Co, Pinsent Masons LLP and Jackal Advisory have joined forces to bring a specialist offering to market for the public sector, focusing specifically on meeting the needs of not for profit bodies and charities that are admitted bodies to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). The service will help organisations to manage their legal, financial, accountancy, actuarial and administration issues.

BNP Paribas has announced a new investment programme to expand its hedge fund and fund of hedge funds administration services for both Ucits and offshore funds. The new programme involves improved transparency, better control and comprehensive fund reporting.

LV= has launched a new microsite www.LV.com/2012opportunities to provide advisers with greater clarity on forthcoming technical changes to pensions legislation. The site covers such areas as lifetime allowance, contracting out, flexible drawdown and the carry forward rule.
