Burges Salmon pensions team has been highly commended for regulatory work at the Legal Week British Legal Awards 2017. Speaking of the commendation, Burges Salmon pensions partner Clive Pugh said the team are delighted. “ This category covers the full range of regulatory work and winning this Highly Commended status, the only pensions practice to do so in the category, reflects a decade of working on major pensions regulatory investigations from Great Lakes to Coats Group and Silentnight and Bernard Matthews.”

Worcestershire County Council Pension Fund has committed £20m to the AEW UK Real Return Fund, bringing the total size of the fund to £86m. So far the fund has deployed around half of this additional capital with the acquisition of two residential care homes let to Prime Life Limited, a care services provider operating a total of 57 care homes, based mainly in Lincolnshire and the East Midlands. Worcestershire County Council administers the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), which provides for the occupational pensions of employees, other than teachers, police officers, and fire fighters of the local authorities within the Herefordshire and Worcestershire area.

LEBC Group has launched its own dedicated academy for graduate recruitment to provide individuals with a clear career path within financial services. After being given induction training to the structure and ethos of LEBC, candidates to the ‘LEBC Academy’ (Academy) will begin ongoing professional development comprising both technical and practical on-the-job training. Key areas covered will be core technical knowledge; legislation and compliance framework; financial planning capabilities; pension, investment and protection market knowledge; as well as industry systems and practices.
