Mn Services UK wins first client

Mn Services Investment Management UK has announced that it has been awarded its first appointment as fiduciary manager by the Macmillan Cancer Support Pension Scheme, subject to contract.

The deal, which is understood to have been agreed in October 2009, was revealed at the first anniversary business meeting for Mn Services UK by Remco van Eeuwijk, managing director, UK.

"We are very pleased that a scheme with a sponsor of that reputation and that name is willing to be our first client. It is a great opportunity to show our commitment to the UK market and get involved in the UK society, as [we are] in the Netherlands," commented van Eeuwijk. "We felt it was the right match, and we look forward to signing the contract."

Member of the executive board at Mn Services, Roland van den Brink, added that following the difficulties of the last two years, it is now time for the industry to win back the trust of the public. "People have lost faith in the financial institutions and governments," he said. "Pension funds must do everything possible to win back confidence. The Netherlands is good in social stability - Mn is convinced that it can help pension funds in the UK. The UK and the Netherlands can learn a lot from each other. They are both worth having faith in.

"Our presence in the UK is a strategic choice - we believe in the UK market," he concluded.

On the evening of the business meeting, delegates were able to donate money to the Macmillan Cancer Support cause, and Mn Services vowed to match every penny raised.
