JLT Employee Benefits has appointed Ian Burns and James Leeming to its investment solutions teams.
Burns will take on the new role of director and head of defined benefit investment solutions and Leeming joins as a director in the investment solutions team. Burns is a qualified actuary with 22 years’ experience in pensions and investments and has been a director at JLT since 2014, leading bespoke investment solutions for pension schemes. Before this, he spent seven years working for the big four accounting firms. In the new role Burns will lead the strategic direction and growth of the firm’s DB investment business across the UK.
Leeming joins from Mercer where he was head of investment consulting. In the new role at JLT EB, he will be responsible for the delivery of JLT’s investment consulting services across a range of clients.
Mirabaud Asset Management has hired Thomas Jäger to its equities team.
Jäger joins as senior portfolio manager for the firm’s Swiss equities team. He has 15 years of experience and previously worked at St.Galler Kantonalbank, where he was responsible for following the industrial and healthcare sectors. He has a degree in business management from the Fachhochschule St. Gallen and is a certified international investment analyst.
Natixis Global Asset Management has appointed Carlos Vilares to its business development team.
Vilares joins NGAM as head of insurance for the UK and Ireland and will be based in the London office. He will report directly to the firm’s managing director and head of UK & Ireland Euan MacLaren. Vilares joins from PIMCO where he was a vice president in the financial institutions group and previously the UK institutional team. Before this he worked at Man Investments and Norton Rose. He is a CFA charter holder and completed his MBA at London Business School in 2011.
