Appointments update 2 August

- The Cheviot Trust has appointed Sir Derek Morris as chairman.

The former chairman of the Competition Commission, and provost of Oriel College, Oxford, he has also carried out the government’s review of the actuarial profession, the Morris Review, reporting in 2005.

- Profile Pensions has appointed David Jackman as a non-executive director.

A pioneer and leader in regulation, Jackman was the first head of ethics at the Financial Services Authority (FSA), where he introduced the industry’s Training and Competence regime. He initiated the approach to regulation that underpinned the Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) model and the development of the Retail Distribution Review (RDR).

- Royal London has appointed Olivia Dickson as a non-executive director.

Dickson is currently a non-executive director of the Financial Reporting Council where she chairs the Actuarial Council. She is also a non-executive adviser to the Senior Partner and Managing Partner in the law firm Travers Smith and a member of the Government’s Advisory Group on Social Impact Investing.
