Appointments update 09 February

BlueBay Asset Management has appointed Polina Kurdyavko as head of its emerging market debt team.

Previously co-head of the team, Kurdyavko will become the sole head of BlueBay’s emerging markets team, following David Dowsett’s move to become a strategic adviser. She will continue to report to chief investment officer, Raphael Robelin. Kurdyavko is a champion of diversity and innovation in asset management and is “widely recognised as a leading female investment professional”.

Xafinity Punter Southall has appointed Patrick McCoy as head of investment.

McCoy will be responsible for leading the pensions consultancy’s investment teams and will sit on the firm’s executive committee to help develop its strategy. He will report to co-CEO Paul Cuff. McCoy moves from KPMG where he was partner and head of investment advisory and before this spent over ten years at AON.

Ascot Lloyd has named Graham Bentley as investment committee chairman.

Bentley will be responsible for chairing quarterly investment meetings which will review the firm’s broad Centralised Investment Proposition. He has over 40 years’ experience in the industry and has previously held positions at Henderson, M&G and Old Mutual, and has run his own consultancy firm since 2013.

BESTrustees adds Karen Theobald to its team of trustee executives.

Theobald will be responsible for bringing her trustee and adviser experience to the company, having joined at the begging of February. Previously, she worked for Conduent, formerly Buck Consultants, where she chaired the trustee pension scheme since 2010. Theobald developed a robust governance framework and delivered client services.
