Appointments update 15 March

Capita Employee Benefits has appointed Akash Rooprai as head of pensions management.

Rooprai will focus on leading the team through market uncertainties created by Brexit, particularly respobsible for bulk annuities, liability de-risking and journey planning. He joins with over 25 years’ experience with previous roles at Partnership and Mercer, initially beginning his career in the actuarial sector and later in bulk annuities.

Aon Hewitt has appointed Tiziana Perrella as a principal consultant on its Risk Settlement group.

Perrella has over 20 years’ experience in pensions and joins Aon Hewitt after eight years at JLT Employee Benefits where she served as principal and head of buyout services. Prior to this, she spent 10 years at Mercer and began her career at Prudential. She is also a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and has is a member of several sub-committees within the actuarial sector.

Intelligent Pensions has hired Fiona Tait as its new technical director.

Replacing the retiring David Trenner, Tait joins from Royal London where she served as a pension specialist. Tait has worked in financial services since 1989 and holds considerable experience in the pensions market. In the role she will use her knowledge to help guide and communicate technical pension issues to both financial advisers and direct clients, as well as trustees and employers responsible for workplace pensions.
