Are you an experienced Pensions Technical Manager looking for an in house career move for a £bn+ pension fund?

About the role
• To lead on the day-to-day technical queries and activities associated with the outsource provision of pension administration within the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) environment. Maintaining and developing relationships across the technical knowledge pool, taking first response on technical requests, supporting the Head of Compliance, Risk and Pensions in all aspects of the monitoring of the provision of outsourced pension administration.
• Managing the Breach reporting, Death Grants, Pension Discretions, Overpayments, Complaint/Internal Dispute resolution Procedures (IDRP) processes with the Compliance and Risk Support officer.
• Understanding; the delivery of pensions administration within LGPS environment, the regulatory framework under which LGPS pensions work and ensuring that all regulatory requirements are maintained, monitoring the analysis and implementation of new regulations, processes, and procedures.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure strategic aims are achieved, delivering value for money member services. Enhancing colleagues’ skillsets and knowledge, driving continuous improvement across the business.

About you
Qualifications & Experience
• Pensions Management Institute qualified part or full, or other certified body Pensions technical administration qualifications.
• Demonstrable experience of supporting senior leaders and influencers in a high pressure, changing environment ideally within local government pension sectors, or pension administration environments working with LGPS funds.
• Educated to Graduate standard or equivalent (e.g. appropriate NVQ, professional qualifications or suitable level of experience).
• Must be fully conversant in Advanced Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint and use of databases, excel, Word, typing / accuracy, and able to learn new systems quickly.
