This is the role you have been waiting for, a newly created position for an in-house Pension Manager, for an occupational pensions scheme, to make your own!

Our client needs your specialist skills to take overall responsibility for all pension matters within their organisation and its subsidiaries. You will oversee, maintain and develop pension strategy and ensure it is aligned with the wider group business strategy. Your exciting new remit will covers all aspects of pensions, domestic and international, financials, polices administration and governance. You will contribute actively and be a key member of the People leadership team.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include defining pension strategy and ensuring your employer is competitive within the marketplace, as there are other similar organisations providing the same service. You will act as the subject matter expert in all matters relating to pensions. This will include keeping up to date with changes in pension legislation and the impact on existing pension arrangements. You will also provide technical support to the internal Pensions and Payroll team. You will manage all internal processes, policies and communications relating to pensions, ensuring compliance with necessary legislation and regulation. You will represent your employer and its subsidiaries at employer forums and workshops as appropriate.

All reporting as required in relation to the pension schemes internally and externally for regulatory and management purposes would come under your wing, as you become the key contact point for external and internal audit purposes in relation to the pension schemes. You will be leading the engagement and outcomes on the underlying covenants, deficit recovery periods and future service costs in relation to the scheme.

You will have past experience liaising with professional advisors and the confidence to work with them, to provide guidance on modelling on the future impact of the pension schemes on the group and the development of appropriate strategies to deliver target outcomes. You will already be an expert at managing key external partner relationships at a senior level, continually driving enhanced value from all contacts and ensuring quality service is delivered to your employer.
