Speaker Profile: Yunus Gajra

Yunus has extensive of the Local Government and Fire Service Pension Schemes having worked for the West Yorkshire Pension Fund (WYPF) for over 40 years. As Assistant Director (Finance, Administration and Governance), he has responsibility for providing pensions administration services to over 500,000 members spread across the UK. He has been instrumental in WYPF’s growth and national recognition as a high performing low cost service, now providing pensions administration to three other Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) Funds and 26 Fire Authorities. Yunus contributes to a number of industry groups, both in the LGPS and wider pensions market, and is very passionate about providing a high level customer service to his members. He is also a firm believer in training and development of staff and has been involved in devising pensions qualifications relevant to the public sector.
