The Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC) has announced the appointment of David Weymouth as chairman.

He has been appointed chairman of the board, as well as chairman of the board of PIC’s parent company, Pension Insurance Corporation Group Limited, and will join both boards from 1 October, subject to regulatory approval. Weymouth has 45 years' experience across a number of sectors in financial services, and has served on the group executive committees of Barclays and Royal Sun Alliance, as chief information officer and chief risk officer respectively. He succeeds Jon Aisbitt, who announced his intention to step down in January.

Capital Cranfield has appointed Ryan Ellett as a professional trustee in its specialist professional corporate sole trustee team.

A qualified actuary, Ellett has more than 20 years’ experience working for leading consultancies, most recently at First Actuarial LLP. Commenting on the appointment, Capital Cranfield managing director, Harus Rai, said: "Ryan is a very strong addition to our PCST team, bringing impressive experience in the financial and governance issues that our clients regularly have to deal with. Ryan's breadth of experience will make a real difference to his clients and we are delighted that he has chosen to join us."
