Appointments update 14 January 2021

XPS Pensions Group has named Elen Watson as partner and head of covenant.

Watson joins XPS from KPMG’s restructuring practice, where she undertook a 12 month client secondment to The Pensions Trust to establish and build their internal covenant team. She brings 15 years of experience in advising trustees and corporates on all aspects of employer covenant to the role, including triennial reviews, covenant monitoring, and integrated risk management, and also has significant experience with both single employer schemes, and complex groups and multi-employer schemes.

AXA Investment Managers has appointed Nigel Yates portfolio manager.

Reporting to co-head global equities Framlington, Linden Thomson, Yates will be responsible for managing the AXA Framlington UK Growth fund, replacing Jamie Hooper. He will also support Chris St John in the management of the AXA Framlington UK Select Opportunities fund and the offshore AXA WF Framlington UK fund, and will help develop the the group's range of sustainable funds. Prior to this, Yates worked at NFU Mutual, where he began his career in 2021, most recently managing three UK client portfolios totalling £2bn in assets.

Dalriada Trustees has announced the appointment of Sarah Brough as a professional trustee.

Joining from the Government Actuary’s Department, where she was deputy chief actuary, Brough has more than 25 years’ experience in advising defined benefit pension schemes in the public and private sector. She is also the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries' (IFoA) Lifelong Learning Committee chair, and a IFoA’s Pension Board member, as well as a voluntary board member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Audit and Risk committee.
