Appointments update 13 July 2022

Sackers has appointed Amy Difford as an associate in its pensions specialist litigation team.

In her new role, Difford will advise trustees and employers on all contentious pensions matters, including litigation, regulatory action and member disputes. She trained at TLT and qualified in 2017. Sackers partner and head of pensions litigation, Peter Murphy, said that the appointment will further strengthen the firm’s ability to provide clients with “pragmatic and proportionate advice on all their litigation and risk management issues”.

Cushon has named Rachel Beagles non-executive director.

Beagles will also chair Cushon’s Audit and Risk committee, monitoring Cushon’s overall risk management framework, financial reporting processes, and compliance processes. She joins with over 20 years’ experience in investment, having previously been chair of the Association of Investment Companies. She also currently holds non-executive director positions at the alternatives asset manager, Gresham House plc, and investment companies Witan Investment Trust plc, and The Mercantile Investment Trust plc.

Canada Life has announced the appointment of Katy Johnston as head of digital transformation.

In the newly created role, Johnston will support the company’s ambition to consolidate its strong position in core markets while also providing a framework where it can more easily build out into new markets. She joins from Aviva, where she held a number of leadership roles across both the savings & retirement and general insurance businesses, and has a track record of delivering large scale digital and operational transformation projects which deliver tangible value.
