Appointments update 05 July

The People’s Pension has appointed Chris Fagan as a trustee.

Fagan holds a number of non-executive and trustee roles and is also an associate director with Muse Advisory. Previously, he was a trustee of the Willis Towers Watson Pension Scheme and also worked in the firm’s investment advisory and fiduciary management teams.

The Equity Release Council has appointed Jim Boyd as CEO.

Boyd has held a number of roles across the industry, including an advisory role at the Department for Work and Pensions and deputy director and head of research at think tank Reform, where he focused on retirement, pensions and long-term care funding. He will work alongside chairman David Burrows and chief operating officer Donna Bathgate in representing the group’s membership.

B&CE has appointed Gregg McClymont as director of policy and external affairs.

The former Shadow Pensions Minister joins from Aberdeen Standard Investments where he has been head of retirement for three years. Before that, McClymont was Shadow Minister of State from 2011 to 2015 and was an adviser to the Secretary of State for Health between 2003 and 2005. He will be responsible for leading the firm’s policy and external affairs team and starts at the end of July.
