An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced pension professional to join the Payroll & Pension Liaison Service.
As Pension Liaison Team Manager, you will be leading a team of four pension liaison officers and will be responsible the provision of an advisory and administrative pension liaison service for the Council and our external clients (schools and academies) ensuring compliance with pension legislation at all times.
The Payroll & Pension Liaison Service pays over 20,000 employees each month, with approximately 17,000 active pension scheme members in the West Yorkshire Pension Fund, Teachers’ Pension and NHS Pension schemes.
You will need to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of public service pension scheme administration, and will be responsible for ensuring all pension scheme statutory deadlines are met. The role will entail interpreting and implementing legislative and policy changes and communicating these effectively to our internal and external clients. In addition, you will be responsible for complex case resolution and specialist pension scheme administration tasks.
An understanding of payroll and its impact on pensions would be beneficial, along with the drive to review and improve existing processes to ensure compliance and maximise effectiveness and efficiency.
Excellent communication skills are essential to the role and a pension related professional qualification would be highly advantageous.
The relevant experience needed for the post is:
• A minimum of 3 years working in a pension environment in a senior advisory role
• A minimum of one year’s experience of coaching or mentoring staff.
