Iain
McGowan heads the
Retirement
Income & Planning unit at
Scottish Widows. This
includes responsibility for
our individual pensions
product range, covering
product strategy, offer
development and
communications.
McGowan
is an Actuary by profession
and has spent his career in
sales, product development
and marketing.
Recently he
has managed the successful
launch of Retirement
Account. McGowan regularly
speaks and writes articles
on pensions and broader
industry issues.
Mike
Morrison joined
Winterthur in
1990 and is now the head of
pensions development for
AXA Winterthur Wealth
Management. In this role,
Mike liases with various
industry bodies with regard
to developing products and
their accessibility to
consumers.
He also spends
time talking to advisers
about pensions and financial
planning issues. He is on
the committee of the
Association of Member
Directed Pension Schemes
(AMPS), in addition to being
an Associate of the Pensions
Management Institute.
Martin
Tilley's principal role
is as business
development manager at
Dentons, the bespokeSIPP
provider, although he also
manages a small portfolio of
High Net Worth SIPP and
SSAS clients and is the
Compliance Officer for the
company.
He qualified as an
Associate of the Pensions
Management Institute in
1984 and has over 25 years
of Self Invested Personal
Pensions experience,
mostly gained at Dentons
but also achieved in his
previous roles with Sun
Alliance and Crown
Financial Management.
John Moret is head of
sales and
marketing at
Suffolk Life.
Moret has led
the development ofSIPPs
since their launch in 1990
and is widely regarded as
a leading authority on the
product. He is regularly
quoted in the press and
speaks at industry events.
He joined Suffolk Life in
2004 from Capita PPML, the
second biggest administrator
of SIPPs, where he was
executive chairman/managing
director for four and a
half years. He has worked in
the pensions and financial
services sector for over
thirty years.
Steve
Patterson is
managing
director of
Glasgow-based Intelligent
Pensions, which specialises
in the handling of complex
pension matters for
corporate and high net worth
individual clients.
After
studying engineering at
Glasgow University
Patterson decided a career
in financial services offered
the best opportunity to apply
his creative talents. Having
established his own IFA
company in 1984, Patterson
and his team have built up a
wealth of experience in
pensions and investment
planning.
Neil
MacGillivray heads up the
Technical
Support Unit (TSU) at James
Hay,the SIPP andwrapper
arm of banking giant
Santander, which comprises
of amixture of six tax, trust
and pensions specialists.
Prior to joining the TSU,
MacGillivray had gained over
17 years experience working
in the banking industry, the
last five years of which were
within the Private Trust and
Taxation Department of one
of the UK's biggest high
streetbanks. MacGillivray is
a Chartered Banker of the
Institute of Bankers in
Scotland.
