TPR announces three new appointments

Three new non-executive directors have joined The Pensions Regulator (TPR), the Department for Work and Pensions has announced.

Ann Berresford, David Martin and Graham Mayes have all taken up four-year appointments and will commence their duties from 1 February. Berresford is a chartered accountant and has worked as a UK finance director for the Bank of Ireland Group. She is currently a non-executive director of the Pension Protection Fund (PPF). Martin has 40 years’ experience in the industry including 30 years of giving direct advice to trustees of occupational pension schemes. Mayes has 30 years’ experience in the global consumer goods industry and is currently a trustee director for Kimberly Clark Pension Trusts.

TPR chair Michael O’Higgins said: “These appointments bring an enormous amount of experience and knowledge to the board. Overseeing the work of the regulator is a vital role and success lies in the diversity of insights that all members bring to the table.”

Current members of the board Alan Pickering and Chris Swinson are stepping down after eight years of service.
