Royal Mail, Telent and SAUL develop Pensions Governance Index

The pension funds of Royal Mail, Telent and Superannuation Arrangements of the University of London (SAUL) have announced the launch of the Pensions Governance Index, tailored to measure the relationship between governance structures used by UK pension schemes and the investment required to maintain them.

The initiative is designed to develop a set of pension governance resource measures that will ultimately improve investment and administration outcomes for trustees.

Pension funds will be able to learn lessons on these areas from others in the industry and those funds that choose to participate in the initiative will receive a tailored benchmarking report showing how their governance resources compare to other funds with a similar governance approach and size.
