News in brief w/c 25 March

Premier has launched an online retirement service for employers and trustees, Gateway2Retirement. The new online service aims to help members understand all their pension options such as annuity, drawdown pension or phased retirement; and provides a “whole market” search of annuities rates.

Findel Group Pension Fund has appointed Barnett Waddingham to provide actuarial, investment and administration services to the fund worth £120m, effective from April 2013. Findel is a multi-channel retailer operating across home shopping, educational supplies and healthcare services.

Middlesbrough Borough Council, the administering authority to the Teesside Pension Fund, has appointed Aon Hewitt to provide actuarial consulting services to the fund worth £2.5 billion. Aon Hewitt will be working closely with Middlesbrough Borough Council and its officers to help manage the fund and to discharge a variety of regulatory duties.
