News in brief, mandates and product launches from this week

SHILLING Communication has announced its appointment to the Johnson Matthey Pension Scheme. The chemicals company appointed SHILLING to establish a pensions brand, produce personalised communication and launch a new pensions website. Their UK DB scheme has around 3,500 active members.

Mercer has been appointed by Merseyside Pension Fund (MPF) to provide advice on the manager selection process for a passive investment mandate of £1,000m to £1,500m. The index tracking mandate is initially expected to cover UK equities, UK index linked gilts and North American equities.

Dentons has announced the launch of its new technical advice service in response to the increased demand for technical assistance from intermediaries. A new email address Technical@dentonspensions has been set up to respond to queries and to assist on matters relating to SIPP/SSAS eligibility.
