Iceland among latest household names to opt for Nest

The National Employment Savings Trust (Nest) has revealed that Iceland and Mitchells & Butlers are two of the latest household names that have opted to use its auto-enrolment savings scheme.

Other names include Barchester Healthcare, Brook Street, Elior UK, Emprise Services, Housing 21, Marston’s, the Midcounties Co-operative, RWE Npower and Staffline Group, therefore taking the total number to over 100 large employers.

Nest chief executive Tim Jones said: “2013 is the start of a long journey. Automatic enrolment will take six years to introduce fully and this is the year in which we and the industry as a whole will begin to really get going.

“Making a success of that scale of activity is a formidable challenge in itself and it’s where we at Nest will be focused throughout the year. These employers, along with Nest, other providers, advisers and payroll professionals, are in the frontline of implementing the duties in these first stages. We are working with all the groups involved in helping to make this a success.”
